About Event

This is a meeting for unemployed tech workers, who have capacity, risk tolerance, and desire to step away from traditional tech workplace environment. In the meeting, you’ll

• learn what a worker co-op is
• learn the benefits of a co-op vs. a traditional business
• discuss attendee skills, interests, & potential business ideas.
• learn the legal, tax, and social implications of entering co-op business relationships.

Worker co-ops are democratic enterprises. Unemployed workers could use this structure to create new opportunities for employment by building local businesses with a pro-social bottom line. Building a robust worker co-op sector in PDX improves community resilience in these challenging times.
